About Cosgrove and Davidson Ancestry
Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Isabel Cosgrove and I live in Scotland. The information on here is a summary of many years of work by my parents. My contributions have mostly been to pull together their notes into tree format and to update/refresh where possible with the advent of online data.

My father, John Travers COSGROVE supported by his cousin Thomas Forster KEATING did immense research into the Irish pedigrees of the RADCLIFF(E), PALMER and connected families. It is due to them that I have found many inter-connections between a small group of Anglo-Irish settlers. We've been less successful with the COSGROVE history and are still working on that. The highlight has been finding that our PALMER line can be traced back to PLANTAGENET and those descendants are highlighted in blue.

My mother Elizabeth Kathleen DAVIDSON has been researching her father's DAVIDSON Aberdeenshire roots as well as her mother's PRYN Cornish/COTTER Irish roots. Our latest revelations include discovering that DAVIDSONs in the late 17th and early 18th centuries were likely to have been Quakers and that the McCord Museum in Montreal has a wonderful collection of Davidson papers, sadly not digitised. Our confirmed COTTER ancestry going backwards seems to stop abruptly at the 1798 Irish Uprising (there's some guesswork on here) but hopefully more information on that will become available eventually. COTTER descendants are highlighted in green.

I have imported all the information here from a GEDCOM and, with help from John Reynolds, a 1st cousin 8 times removed, I have resolved the issues regarding not knowing first names or surnames. Where I know a surname but not a first name, the first name is that person's unique number in my database and shows as ( xxx ). Where I do not know a surname, that shows as (--). Some people are showing as ( xxx ) (--) where I have still some research to undertake. I hope I have sorted them all out so that those people listed under 'Unknown' are truly unknown ... but if you spot any oddities, please do let me know.

No living people should show up at all but if you find yourself and are concerned about that, please let me know so I can rectify that error.

Thanks

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
